Corrosive vices

Metaphorically speaking, Baha'u'llah compares man to steel and explains that man's “essence” is “hidden” and needs to be “brought to light” “through admonition and explanation, good counsel and education”. He then warns us that if man were “allowed to remain in his original condition” these two corrosive elements in him “will effectively destroy him” just like the way rust, if allowed, will eventually destroy steel.
